Tivoli is a verdant world of broad plains and vast oceans. Slightly larger than Umbria and orbiting a blue-white main sequence star, Tivoli's climate is temperate and welcoming. It features three primary continents, which together account for only about a quarter of the planet's total surface area, while its endless seas are made up of mildly salinated water.

Battipaglia was the last Umbrian colony world to be settled before the arrival of the Ascomanni, and it would play a tragic role in the two species' first encounter. Discovered in the early 31120's, Battipaglia is a large terrestrial world, blanketed in vegetation and interspersed with large inland seas and white peaked mountain ranges. With a thick, well-oxygenated atmosphere and gravity just over Umbrian-standard, Battipaglia looked like an excellent choice for colonization.

Primus Aulus Vetus was one of four commanders responsible for leading Praetor Gaius Aurelius Marcellus's elite praetorian guard. He made a strong impression on the Praetor during the time they shared on Varese, where they waged a guerrilla war against a superior Ascomanni force. Despite his youth and lack of experience, he was able to keep his soldiers in line in a near-hopeless situation and succeeded in opening the path for the Umbrian's final assault on the Ascommani command post.

Salvius Sextus is one of four primes leading Praetor Gaius Aurelius Marcellus's praetorian guard units. Older than his peers, Salvius had participated in major combat operations. He played a key role in the evacuation of Leciri, leading an armored cohort and earning a temporary promotion to Prefect before the conclusion of the battle. The tremendous losses his command endured during the battle would lead to a period of disillusionment and malaise, but Sextus's record made a strong impression on Marcellus, who accepted his request to transfer to his command staff.

Antonia Lutatia is a young officer responsible for leading one of four cohorts of Gaius Aurelius Marcellus's vaunted Praetorians. Given the toughest of assignments by their commander, Antonia and her peers are responsible for achieving results, no matter the strength of the opposition. Antonia has earned her place amongst her fellow Primes, rising from the ranks of the enlisted and earning a battlefield commission through her aggressive tactics and willingness to do whatever it takes to complete her mission.

Primus Aria Fulvia Nobilior is a fierce warrior and combat commander. Rising to the rank of Legate, Aria would participate in a number of important battles before personal tragedy would turn the charismatic young woman into a dour shadow of her former self. Resigned to fight until death claims her, Aria would accept an offer from an old colleague to take a more active role in the war, joining Praetor Gaius Aurelius Marcellus's praetorian guard unit.
